From Linda Eagle Speaker:

Hello,
Just had to share my oldest son's collaborative work with Eagle Speaker.com and these talented indigenous young people who he assisted to bring their individual talents to the world. I feel comfortable knowing my legacy of teaching will continue with my children. Proud Mamma!

LET'S WORK TOGETHER

Check out these cool collaborations:

GITZ CRAZYBOY:

"The Secret of the Stars" -- his very first published novel. JUST LAUNCHED !!!
A young man's journey to find four fallen stars. After watching the stars falling to earth, he is whisked into the land of dreams where he is told that the discovery of each star will also reveal one of life's many secrets. A voyage that takes him across distant lands, into the realm of dreams, and back again. Ultimately the young man begins to understand the deeper purpose of why he was put on this path and what finding all the stars truly means. A story about the wondrous places your dreams can take you.

Gitz wrote it ... I formatted it, designed it and got it published ... a great partnership

"The Secret of the Stars" is now available on Amazon -- worldwide. It's also eligible for free shipping. Here are the USA and Canada links:

JOHN ROMBOUGH:

Breathtaking, aren't they ???
Famed Dene Woodland artist, John Rombough, was born in the remote community of Sioux Lookout in Northern Ontario, Canada. His distinctive modern designs also encompass his own personal visions and strong connection with nature. Paintings that communicate to all nations, through visual interpretation, brilliantly mixed colors are transferred onto canvas, sending out a message of compassion and respect. As John works toward creating original pieces, Ceremonial Drum Songs flow through his thoughts, songs that represent Dene teachings and spiritual way of life. Sacred teachings passed down from ancestors through his visions inspire John to live a healthy creative lifestyle. His most recent publication was a collaboration with the legendary Tomson Highway -- "Caribou Song".
For our project, we will be adapting a story I wrote years ago about five brothers becoming stars in the sky. I spent eight years working at a summer youth camp, and this was by far my most requested story.

John will illustrate it ... I will write it, format it and get it published ... another amazing partnership

Stay tuned to future emails for updates on this fantastic project.

EUGENE BRAVEROCK

If you've seen the latest Wonder Woman movie, you've seen my bro, Eugene BraveRock. He stars as one of the main sidekicks. He also appears in The Revenant, Hell on Wheels and the upcoming Hard Powder with Liam Neeson. Until now, he has been a stunt performer or a movie extra, but, with the release of WonderWoman, that all changed -- in a big way.

In the movie, when Eugene introduces himself to WonderWoman, he says, in Blackfoot: "Oki, nistoo niitaaniko Napi". It means "Hi, my name is NAPI". This subtle moment is key to who Eugene's character is. In the movie, the other characters refer to him as "Chief" (which is his name in the comics -- an obvious stereotype), but, he never actually refers to himself as Chief. He is NAPI

In a way, Eugene introduced Blackfoot teachings and the character of NAPI to the entire world, and into the DC Comics lexicon, ALMOST OVERNIGHT. Throughout filming, the Hollywood director (Patty Jenkins) relied on Eugene to maintain Indigenous authenticity in his character's background, his style of dress and his motivations --- which is almost unheard of in major productions.

If there is one thing Indigenous people need more than anything, it's a hero. Eugene has proven himself to be exactly that -- a true superhero. As he continues on his lightning ascent towards international stardom, the teachings of NAPI (and the Blackfoot) will be right there with him.

For our project, we are currently putting together Eugene's biography -- an epic story of his rise from the rez to Hollywood. Even cooler, we are in the planning stages of a spin-off graphic novel of NAPI, as a superhero.

Eugene will inspire both ... I will write, illustrate and publish both ... another amazing partnership

Stay tuned for details, we hope to launch his biography at the 2017 Indigenous Comic Con in Albuquerque, New Mexico this November.

EDDY ROBINSON

Keynote Speaker. Educator. Writer. Indigenous Artist.

An Anishinaabe/Muskegowuk Cree of the Missanabie Cree First Nation born and raised in the city of Toronto. Like many Indigenous people in Canada Eddy did not enjoy an easy childhood as an Anishinaabe youth in the big city. His father – a Residential School survivor – left the family when he was just three years old. Eddy subsequently endured years of abuse from an alcoholic parent. Only in his adult years was Eddy able to understand the legacy of his father’s experience at Chapleau Indian Residential School and Shingwauk Indian Residential School.
Eddy has worked and advocated for many Indigenous communities locally, provincially and nationally for the past 25 years. The Dewegun (Dee-Way-Gun which means Drum) first set Robinson on a good path in life leading to many other important sources that contributed to the rediscovery of his identity; Anishinaabe ceremonies, Indigenous literature & film, leaders, Traditional Teachers and Elders.

Recently, he presented an amazing speech at TedX -- a renowned event for top speakers -- it's called "An Indigenous Journey To Leadership". Click the image below to check it out on YouTube (its 17 minutes of pure awesomeness):
For our project, we are collaborating on a graphic novel based on a film treatment Eddy wrote.

Eddy will write and convert it ... I will help write it, illustrate it and publish it ... another amazing partnership

Stay tuned for details, we hope to launch later this year.
